6th April Deadline for HMRC's campaign for Physio's, Chiropractor's, etc

*Please note the information in this article may be out of date

The Health and Wellbeing Tax Plan is the latest in a long series of HMRC tax campaigns. This one is aimed at alternative, physical and other therapists, who may not have declared all taxable income in the past. In order to participate in the scheme you had to have filled in a notification form by 31 December 2013, then disclose and pay what you owe by 6 April 2014. HMRC are offering preferential terms to those who come forward themselves and declare any tax owing.

Examples of target groups are Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Chiropodists, Osteopaths, Occupational Therapists, Homeopaths, Acupuncturists, Nutritional Therapists, Reflexologists, Nutritionists, Speech Therapists, Psychologists, etc.

As the date to file a notification form has passed, you may not be able to partake of the lower payment terms on offer. Coming forward with undeclared income before the end of the scheme on the 6th April may help keep fines at a lower level than they would be if HMRC come after you first though!
